In The Writer's Corner...

Just finished up a new book for Saddleback Publishing. I turned it in earlier this week. I am going to be talking to them soon to find out what they may want me to do next!

I’VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU, my BACK TO THE FUTURESQUE tale of a teenager that has a dream about a girl he is in love with, is currently in the rewrite stage. I am hoping to get it done this month and to start showing it around in early January.

I am also turning my screenplay WARREN into a young adult novel. It is about two best friends in high school who are pitted against each other when one of them is possessed by an ancient Native American curse. Ronni’s Books will be releasing it.

Presently, I am still showing INSECT around. I am not surprised that I am having trouble finding a distributor. This game is NEVER easy. I am happy to have options that I control should I end up releasing it myself. Which leads me to…

COOL SUMMER has started production. The animation road will be a long one. It will no doubt have many starts and stops. However, the universe of characters from my animated film 1985-1986 continues! You can watch 1985-1986 for free here!

The reshoot of THE FORMING went very well. The film is just about done. I am adding sound FX and music, presently. After that, I will be laying out the DVD, preparing the VOD images and releasing it either later this month or in January. I am also about to start editing my next quick film #BOXINGTIME in the next few weeks as well!

In The Writer's Corner...

I am currently hard at work on another Gravel Road book for Saddleback Publishing. I am also pitching them some other books as well. Thus far, they seem very receptive. I have learned and continue to learn so much writing for them!

The first draft of DREAMGIRL is just about done. That script will most likely be completed this year or in early January 2016. This script is a BACK TO THE FUTURESQUE tale of a teenager that has a dream about a girl he is in love with. Then he wakes up… and has to figure out how to get back into the dream (and stay!) asleep with his dreamgirl. I know it sounds kinda choppy BUT I will eventually refine the logline and synopsis.

INSECT is having a bumpy road on its way to distribution. I will most likely release it on Amazon and also on a Collectors Edition VHS. This should be very interesting. However, I am still trying some other avenues first, mainly because if I can get INSECT with a company that “does” distribution that would be better for it.

THE FORMING is looking good. I need to reshoot some more footage mainly because this will make it a stronger film. Once that is done, I need to incorporate it, do some sound and FX work and that film is done. Then it is on to editing BOXINGTIME! That film is a found footage tale about a boxing promoter who is supposed to throw a fight but doesn’t.

In The Writer's Corner...

Finishing up work on my new book for Saddleback Publishing. It is about a girl and how she’s not going to let anybody tell her she can’t do something. After this, I start work on a new book for their Gravel Road series! I feel very lucky and blessed that they continue to contract me to work for them.

Another movie that I wrote titled MADAME X got made! You can find out more about it here. I am currently reworking another screenplay for the same production company.

DREAMGIRL is moving along really well. This tale of a young man trying to save the girl he loves in his dreams, should be in 1st draft form by the middle of this month. I am really excited about DREAMGIRL because I think this idea is unique enough to attract a lot of interest.

INSECT is looking like I am going to release it some time in 2016. I have also put the wheels in motion for a small Collector’s Edition VHS run. I really like this movie. I feel it should be seen. I am talking to a distributor in a cursory way but, no matter what, I will be getting this film out there!

Lastly, the editing of THE FORMING is moving along. I have put together a rough assembly. I am now refining it, experimenting, and engaging in what might be my favorite part of the whole filmmaking deal (aside from writing that is!). Taking an unwieldy beast and trying to make it coherent and enjoyable for viewers.

In The Writer's Corner...

I am currently working on another book for Saddleback Publishing. This is interesting as it’s my second for them that is written from the point of view of a girl. And, there is another one I am going to be doing for them after this that I believe will be for their Gravel Road series!

It is also looking like I might be getting another movie made. I should know more in a month. I hate being coy but I figured I’d mention it since things are pointing in that direction.

Writing DREAM GIRL right now. It is going good. I am doing something interesting in that I have a fairly solid outline as far as how the action is laid out. The problem is that I want to keep this script, even though it takes place in a dream, somewhat grounded in reality. I would describe this script as a cross between BACK TO THE FUTURE and THE PURPLE ROSE OF CAIRO.

The voices for COOL SUMMER are recorded. I am going to take a break from this project for now. In January, I will start animating it. I am thinking if I work really hard, I might be able to get a lot of it done by the end of Summer 2016 and then finish it up before 2017.

Lastly, made two very quick films in July and August. One is a horror movie that I plan to sequelize called THE FORMING. The other one is a found footage film about a boxing promoter called BOXING TIME. I do the Instagram show @boxingtimewithevan. Follow it if you are interested in the sport! Both of these films should be available on Amazon before 2015 is out.

In The Writer's Corner...

I just signed another agreement to write another project for Saddleback Publishing. In addition to this I am going to write another book for them after that! I say it a lot and I will say it again, I am truly blessed to have found such a great publishing company to work with.

Presently, I am in the early stages of a project with a director I have worked with before. We actually met on Craig’s List about 7 years ago! You never know where you are going to make a good contact. This guy has some pretty interesting ideas so I am curious to see what I can bring to them…

Started my next screenplay DREAM GIRL. This script centers around a guy who has to save the love of his life… in a dream. I am trying to give it a BACK TO THE FUTURE type feel.

COOL SUMMER voices are starting to be recorded and my plan is to get about 80% of them done this month. We shall see!

TIM COHEN’S AMAZING ADVENTURES IN CARDBOARD BOX TIME TRAVEL is done and will be available on DVD and VOD from AMAZON shortly.

Well, the company that I thought might have put out INSECT on cable TV has ultimately passed on the project. No big deal. To paraphrase Melvin Van Peebles, “a setback is an opportunity in work clothes.” I am going to try a few more avenues and then release it myself on DVD, VOD and a limited VHS run.

In The Writer's Corner...

Just finished up another book for Saddleback Publishing! Once I go through it I will be starting up another and we're talking about more. Once again, I am truly lucky to be with these kind people.

SUNDAY FUNDAY is done! This tale of insane Juggalos ruining a happy day in the park will soon be made available to prospective producers, agents and managers.

About halfway through the storyboarding process of COOL SUMMER. It should be done this month and then I start recording the voices.

TIM COHEN’S AWESOME ADVENTURES IN CARDBOARD BOX TIME TRAVEL will be done this month. Most likely in the next few weeks... then it will be made available on both AMAZON (DVD and VOD) and YOUTUBE. More on that next month... also, I start shooting THE FORMING next month as well. This is a quickie horror movie that I hope will turn into a trilogy like DV.

Still waiting on the company that might want INSECT on pay TV in a shorter form. I have no idea how people only make one thing and then wait to hear back. If I didn't have other things to do, I would go insane.

For the moment, I have decided to scale back ANHEDENIA FILMS TV. Eventually, INSECT will be on there and then maybe COOL SUMMER. I will also be doing a short animated show of some sort, but right now I am just gonna focus on the projects at hand.

In The Writers Corner...

After turning in my manuscript for this new series for Saddleback Publishing, it looks like I am going to write two more for them. I am honored and humbled that they have asked me to do this!!! These stories are so cool and so much fun to write. They are a great, GREAT company.

Also, finishing up a script for Nasser Entertainment. Let's see what happens...

The SUNDAY FUNDAY script is almost done. I have another rewrite to put on it, then a final read and this tale of insane juggalos attacking happy park goers should be complete.

You can watch WATER DAMAGE online or order the DVD here! This tale of one night in the life of a man suffering from OCD has already seen some interest on AMAZON! Nothing incredible but not bad for a film with NO money behind it.

COOL SUMMER has gone through its final rewrite and is now being story boarded. I hope to cast and record the voices this summer.

The editing on TIM COHEN’S AWESOME ADVENTURES IN CARDBOARD BOX TIME TRAVEL goes well. The only issue is pacing. I want the movie to play quicker yet it was shot as a series of long scenes. I might have to cut these scenes up (or down) to speed up the pace.

Still waiting to hear back from a company that is interested in distroing INSECT. It might be on cable TV in a shorter form, then available on AMAZON in its full length form. Either way it is coming out because...

As you can see above, I have started ANHEDENIA FILMS TV! This is going to be a place that (for now) I plan to fill with animated content. Right now you can watch my first animated film 1985-1986 in 12 parts. You can also watch the spinoff show, THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE. Next up will be 5 more episodes of THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE that will be 5-6 minutes a piece. I have plans for more seasons after that and more shows. In the Writer’s Corner…

Finishing a book for a new series Saddleback Publishing wants to start! This is a really cool story and my first one written from the perspective of a girl.

The SUNDAY FUNDAY rewrite is going well. I am making it a bit more dramatic by showing some flashback scenes. In the script a father and son find themselves in a park that is attacked by deranged juggalos. They father and son are estranged and these new scenes show why that is so. It should be done by the middle of June.

WATER DAMAGE is done! You watch it online here. The DVD should be available soon. I have finally figured out how to do my own artwork. This means I can make and release movies even quicker! Not sure if that is good or bad…

Starting back up work on my animated film COOL SUMMER. This film sees three boys in the 1980s (Erol, Gerry and Bryan from my first animated film 1985-1986) befriend a person who may or may not be a serial killer.

I have also started editing my most recent quickie film, TIM COHEN’S AWESOME ADVENTURES IN CARDBOARD BOX TIME TRAVEL. I guess the title says it all…

INSECT looks like it might have found distribution. On Pay TV no less. More on this next month.

In the Writer’s Corner…

I have been working on a script for a producer that I think is getting made. Then again, the whole thing might fall apart. I should have more to report at this time next month. I might even be writing another script for them.

I am finishing up FATHERSONFATHER for Saddleback Publishing! I also should be getting the VARSITY170 books (the third I have written for them) soon. And… it looks like I will be writing another book for them! They are a truly great outfit to write for. Viva Saddleback!!

Rewriting the first draft of SUNDAY FUNDAY. The first draft came up kinda light on the page count. I am rectifying that with this rewrite. I should have it completed in 2-3 more drafts.

WATER DAMAGE is just about done! Here is a logline about it’s plot:

After suffering a nervous breakdown due to OCD a man finds himself facing his old issues shortly after becoming “well.”

Now it is time to start back working on COOL SUMMER. My plan is to try and elongate the screenplay in someway. Then I will storyboard the script, cast the voice roles, record the voices and start the long slog of animating.

I am also making a quickie time travel film dealing with the assassination of JFK. More on that next month but this film will be a comedy.

In the Writer’s Corner…

I am currently working on, in a cursory way, a script for a producer. We are sort of playing around with an outline. Ultimately, time will tell if this thing becomes a more involved project.

I am about to start my new book FATHERSONFATHER for Saddleback Publishing! I am really excited about this. It is about a boy in high school providing end of life care for his dad and the relationship he develops with his caregiver.

SUNDAY FUNDAY is going well. It is about a father and son spending an afternoon in the park when it is suddenly overrun with killer Juggalos. I might even have a first draft of it by the end of the month!

WATER DAMAGE is almost rough edited. It will be done by the end of the of the month. My plan is to either release it shortly after that or see about bigger distribution. It is actually turning into a pretty cool micro film. Once this is done it is back to work on COOL SUMMER! I would like to be animating it before summer.

Still sending INSECT out to distributors! I think it is getting close to landing one.
