In the Writer’s Corner…

In addition to a new project I started for Saddleback Publishing I might be working on another series for them. From what they’ve told me it sounds like it isn’t just in my wheelhouse, it IS my wheelhouse! They are so good to me. I truly feel blessed to be writing for them.

The agent that I am working with on I’VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU has given me the go ahead to rewrite the script. It will be based off a new outline he and I put together which really retains what the screenplay is all about.

You can order the first book in my new series THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE here. It covers 6 years in the life of a boy named Erol. It follows him from the mid-1980s all the way to the early 1990s. Each year will be comprised of 12 books. You can read "The Scam," the first book in the  THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE series HERE. You can also watch an animated version of it HERE. I am currently working on the 7th book in the first year of the series. I am hoping to make the whole series available in early 2019.

I am still writing ELUL. I am thinking it will now be done by the end of this year. At least that is what I am hoping.

Rewriting the outline for TRAP HOUSE. Since I am essentially living the story of this script as I write it, I am truly hoping that what I’m putting across is funny. And not just to me!

The edit of HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY I LOVE YOU? is slowly moving along. It is moving, though. I am also planning on making all of my movies available to people on a subscription basis. It will be $2 a month and you can watch all my movies as much as you want. Also, 2-3 (or more) movies will be added every year. I also might not make DVDs of my movies any longer considering how hard Amazon has made it.

It looks like the 108 documentary I made some years ago has been available to rent in the library of NYU. This is special for many reasons, not the least of which is NYU would probably never have accepted me as a film student, I got an F on the 108 project proposal that I submitted in Film 101 the summer before making the documentary, and lastly, I am a native New Yorker! I am sure my parents are proud. You can watch it HERE.

Lastly, DEATH TOILET is HERE!

See you in a month,

Evan Jacobs

In the Writer’s Corner…

About to start a new project for Saddleback Publishing. Also, outlining a new series I hope they go for. Recently they sent me an email that basically affirmed how much they believe in me. I can’t express how much that means. They are great!

You can order the first book in my new series THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE here. It covers 6 years in the life of a boy named Erol. It follows him from the mid-1980s all the way to the early 1990s. Still rewriting ELUL. It should be done and ready to show by late October.

The TRAP HOUSE outline is going well. This story of a man trying to get a trap house out of his neighborhood will only work if it is genuinely funny. I hope it is!

An agent is working with me on I’VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU. They want to “whip it into shape” and try and sell it. Never really worked with an agent before. I’ve dealt with producers and managers but never an agent. Wondering where this might lead…

COOL SUMMER is half-way drawn. I am currently putting it on hold as I edit a quick film titled HOW MANY TIMES CAN I SAY I LOVE YOU? It is different than my recent movies. A funny story about a man who gets dumped by his girlfriend. In effort to get her back he makes a video trying to show her how much he loves her.

Lastly, it looks like DEATH TOILET hits streaming platforms and DVD next month!

I turn 45 this month!

See you next time,

Outlining the new books for a project with Saddleback Publishing as well as some other projects they have shown an interest in. They are truly a great company through and through. I honestly hope to write for them until I shuffle the mortal coil.

ELUL should be completed in proper script form by the end of this month. After that it will move to rewriteville for a bit and then be done in a couple of months.

233, in its longhand form, is done! It will be rewritten after ELUL. This story of some punk kids trying to rip off a tarot card house could be a potential franchise. I explain a lot but I also try and leave a bit to the imagination.

Also, I have started a longhand version of a screenplay titled, TRAP HOUSE. It’s a comedy about a Kevin James-like character trying to rid his neighborhood of a trap house.

As you can tell by the above image, COOL SUMMER is back. I am drawing 10 pages (to get it to 40), then it’s on to editing my next live action film, HOW MANY TIMES CAN I SAY I LOVE YOU? After that I will draw 10 more pages, edit another live action film, and hopefully have COOL SUMMER complete by mid-2019!

See you next time,

In the Writer’s Corner…

Recently got contracted to write 6 new books for a special project Saddleback Publishing is doing! I am so honored to be a part of it. After that we have some other projects lined up so I am very excited, flattered and stoked to say the least.

You can order the first book in my new series THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE here. It covers 6 years in the life of a boy named Erol. It follows him from the mid-1980s all the way to the early 1990s. The writing of the ELUL screenplay goes well. I am trying to infuse this story of a Jewish boy being in love with a Palestinian girl with humor and thoughtful moments. Ultimately, you will tell me if I succeeded.

ANHEDENIA FILMS ON DEMAND currently has 28 films available. 24 made by me and 4 from other filmmakers. Click HERE to see 28 of the available films that you can now stream and download. I am currently editing a film titled DEATH TOILET. There is a still from it above. It will be ready to screen via INSTAGRAM or FACEBOOK LIVE by the middle of this month. You can find ANHEDENIA FILMS ON DEMAND on FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram at the handle: @afilmsondemand

The longhand version of 233 is also coming along quite well. This story about some punk kids trying to rip off a tarot card house keeps falling into place. I am considering trying to make this on a bigger budget, but as a filmmaker I don’t know if I have the stamina. Which is why I make so many zero budget films!

Best,
Evan Jacobs
