Lastly, COVID-19 is on the upswing in the US and it is apparent that social distancing must be maintained, and that we need to exercise caution... which means WEARING A MASK. If you have a hard time with that or don't like me discussing it, I apologize, but it is clearly the way for us to be the safest.  We will ultimately get through this pandemic. The question is how long will it take. Taking these precautions will make it go quicker.

Turned in another manuscript for THE VINTAGE ROSE MYSTERIES. Currently, working on a webinar for Saddleback! I am excited about this because they have very accomplished people doing these webinars for them… and now they get me!

Writing a new book called ELIZABETH IN THE MOUNTAINS OF EDENROCK that I will be publishing next month on my book imprint Ronni’s Books. I plan to write another 1 or 2 books this summer and publish them as well!

Currently, writing the screenplay HAYMAKER. This one is a thriller about a boxing promoter who is told there is a bomb set to go off in the building during a fight card. Like the books, I plan to finish this next month and write one or two more this summer.

Lastly, while our dealing with COVID-19 seems to be on the downhill, it is still apparent that social distancing must be maintained, and that we need to exercise caution. At the same time, things are clearly opening up and that seems to be the dominant sentiment. I might be wrong about that, though. Either way, it seems best to follow the guidelines wherever you may live.

In the Writer’s Corner…

I just turned in another manuscript for The Vintage Rose Mysteries. This series is really creepy and cool. Hoping to write many more books for Saddleback Educational in the future!

The outline for my new script HAYMAKER is done. This one is a thriller about a boxing promoter who is told there is a bomb set to go off in the building during a fight card. I’ve got to rewrite the screenplay I’VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU and then I am diving headlong into this one.

My plan is to put the final edit on COOL SUMMER over the next two weeks. Then after that I will edit a quick movie I shot on social distancing. It doesn’t have a title, yet, but it will. On the iPad I am about to start editing a science fiction film set in a snow cabin titled SECTOR 14.

How is this quarantine treating you? On the one hand I feel blessed that I have a lot of work I can do from home. Most of the people I know are healthy and handling this okay. On the other hand, we are slowly coming out of this. When I write the news for next month things will undoubtedly be different than they are right now. Hang in there, make the most of this time, and know that nothing lasts forever and we’re all going to be okay.

See you next time,

Evan Jacobs

Started a new book for The Vintage Rose Mysteries series! Looking forward to writing more. Saddleback Educational has been amazing to me. I can’t thank them enough! I am hopeful to be writing more books for them throughout this year.

Working on a new boxing script called HAYMAKER. This one is a thriller about a boxing promoter who is told there is a bomb set to go off in the building during a fight card. I should be starting the screenplay by the middle of this month.

I am putting the finishing touches on RIDING THE RAIL. Then I will turn my attention to the final edit of COOL SUMMER. After that, it’s on to editing a micro-budget version of HAYMAKER (the script I mentioned above) on the iPad. On the Mac I will be editing the very brutal TOKYO NIGHT SLAP starring Isaac Golub and myself.

Literally, found out today that all schools in Orange County, Ca will be closed for the remainder of the school year. I work for a school district and am grateful that I can be part of the Distance Learning initiative. I have a feeling that when I write my Anhedenia Films News next month, the Coronavirus will have unfortunately ravaged this country much, much more. Please stay safe out there. Limit contact, practice social distancing, rest if you are sick, and stay home as much as you can. We WILL get through this!

Best,

Evan Jacobs

Turned in another book for the Vintage Rose Mysteries. I’ve got 2 more of them to write (hopefully more), and I'm looking forward to more projects with Saddleback Educational Publishing in the future! Again, I am truly honored to be afforded all the opportunities they gave me!

Turned in the rewrite of I’VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU to this agent I am working with. As I wait for them to read it I am starting a contained/thriller set on the night of a boxing match. It is called HAYMAKER. Incidentally, I shot a micro-budget version of this movie that I hope to edit as I write the script. I've never done anything like that before. My hope is to sell the screenplay to a bigger production house, and then release the movie I shot through ANHEDENIA FILMS UNLIMITED!

COOL SUMMER rough it is done! My plan is to finish editing the RIDING THE RAIL on my iPad then circle back and put the final edit on COOL SUMMER. Also, a portion of the new film in the DV series was shot by my friend Mike Vogelsang aka Popeye (star of DV4) in Greece!

Lastly, this Coronavirus Pandemic has changed all of our lives. We're currently living in a way we never thought imaginable. We are being instructed to stay inside and limit social contact to flatten the curve on this beast. I truly believe everything will work out, but so much has changed so quickly. So many experts are flummoxed by this virus. Lets all be positive, make good use of the "down time," and do our best to stay safe and healthy.

Best,

Evan Jacobs
